                        WEEKLY REFLECTION PHASE II

                                     (19/6/23-23/6/23)

On 19/6/23, Monday we had a special morning assembly on World Reading Day .It was collectively conducted by students of various classes. They gave numerous ideas on the importance of reading. Further today I had class in VIII-C during the third hour .I continued teaching the chapter “The Boy Who Drew Cats”. I took the class as per lesson plan. During the afternoon session I corrected various notes books of VIII- C .

On 20/6/23,Tuesday , I had second hour in VIII-C . During the hour I continued the chapter being taught as per lesson plan. I had included ICT in my lesson plan today . Then after lunch again I went to VIII-C during the sixth hour and took them for P.T . I made sure students were disciplined while in ground.

On 21/6/23 ,Wednesday , I had fourth hour in VIII-C . I continued with the lesson , tried to make class interesting by bringing new ideas of teaching glossary. I also finished the chapter The Boy Who Drew Cats during this hour.I also tried engaging the students.During the afternoon session I corrected their homeworks.

On 22/6/23,Thursday , after the morning assembly I had fourth hour in VIII-C .Since I had just finished with a prose , I decide to take class based on a grammar portion. Accordingly I taught them question tag using Direct Instructional Model. Students found it engaging .During the afternoon session I corrected their homeworks.

On 23/6/23, Friday , I had fourth hour in VIII-C . Today I was going to teach them Taj Mahal by Rabindranath Tagore. Accordingly I began the entry activity discussing the seven wonders o f the world. Further I went on with my class according to the lesson plan. By the end of the class I pointed out the students who did not do their homeworks and asked them not to repeat it. During the seventh hour I engaged students during ECA period in the same class.

This week I felt I had to improve my time management, especially while teaching grammar.I also needed to improve my hand-writing. My use of ICT in most of the lesson plans engaged students in class by capturing their interest and attenstion. I had noticed a few students not doing the homeworks properly and also those who made repetitive mistakes. I made sure that they were aware of it. I felt students started to become comfortable with me , as they began responding pretty well during the class hours.

                                PHASE II (12/6/23-16/6/23)

As the part of B.Ed curriculum , today I began my teaching practice phase II. This time too I was admitted to MVHSS, Manjappara. A few of the B.Ed trainees who were in teaching practice phase I , were also with me , 

Acoordingly I reached MVHSS ,Manjappara by 9:30 AM on 12/6/23, Monday .I along with my fellow mates met the headmistress, handed over the register and letter from the college.We then met our head of department ,Mr.Ansar Salim , who gave us respective classes and portions to be covered. I was assigned the class of VIII-C again and had almost two units to cover this time. Further we stood for the prayer and pledge.Then the classes began by 10:00 AM. According to the time -table given I had third hour is VIII-C today . I went to the class and found fresh faces anxiously looking at their new teacher. I introduced myself , got to know them and began my class. I dealt with the second chapter from the unit "Hues and Views" ,namely The Boy Who Drew Cats , a Japanese folktale.I used ICT and activity cards during the class , which captured attention of the class. After completing my lesson plan I exited the class. Further as usual during the lunch hour we served food for students and engaged in diciplinary duties. 

On 13/6/23, Tuesday , I had second hour in VIII- C , where I taught the rest of the chapter , The Boy Who Drew Cats.I had made them draw cats as an entry activity and students had so much fun. Further i went on with my lesson plan .During the sixth hour I had substituition on IXth grade , where i interacted with the students and engaged the class.

On 14/6/23,Wednesday , I had class in VIII-C during the fourth hour. I continued the chapter The Boy Who Drew Cats . As an entry activity i told them a story titled Old Trees Advice, which captured their attention.Further i took my class according to the lesson plan and exited the class . During the aftrnoon session i was engaged in correcting their homeworks.

On 15/6/23,Thursday , we had morning assembly . It was conducted on the school ground by class IX-B . Then today I had class in VIII-C during the fourth hour. I continued the chapter , took my class using ICT . During the afternoon hours I corrected the notebooks . I was beginning to notice the recurring errors that they make and decided to tell them about it in the coming calsses.

On 16/6/23,Friday ,I had fourth hour in VIII-C . Before that i had a substituion in VIII-A during the second hour, where i engaged the students . During the fourth hour i took class as per the lesson plan . Then during the last hour I had to observe ECA period in VIII_C , where i enagaged students in various activities such as singing , narrating stories etc.

This week I was able to settle down with the class assigned to me. I was able to sync in with the new students , who just came to high school. I was able to create a stable ground in class. Occasionally i had class managemnet problems, but i tried managing . Using ICT grabbed more attention, hence i decided to use it more often. '

 The Art's Fest for the year 2023 was held on June 7 and 8 . The college Union Dhwani organised an inaugural ceremony where Vineeth Ilamaad , a mimicry artist who was famous through the reality show Comedy Utsavam ,was invited as the chief guest . During the inaugural function the principal , arts club secretary and chief guest addressed the audience. College union members also pledged their oaths on respective elected positions after the inauguration ceremony.Then principal addressed the crowd , followed by the chief guest. Further he also did a mimicry performance for us. 

After that the arts fest began .It was a competition between Four teams, namely Green, Blue, Red and Yellow.  There were a lot of performance competitions on day 1 as well as day 2. I had participated in Elocution , skit , poetry recitation and group song.The Arts Fest concluded with Green team winning the trophy. 

SPORTS MEET 2023

A Sport Meet was organised by the college authorities . It was a competition between four teams , namely Green,Blue,Yellow and Green. There were numerous competitions that included indoor and outdoor sports competitions. Chess , badminton , shot-put , football , running races etc were to name a few. The Yellow team won the trophy at the end . 

COGNITIVE MAP

 A cognitive map was created as part of B.Ed curriculum . Unit V Harmony of Life of XIth grade and Unit IV : Live and Let Live of XIIth grade was taken for the purpose .
