SCIENCE WEEK CELEBRATIONS
National Science Day is celebrated in India on February 28 every year. The day marks the discovery of the Raman Effect by Indian physicist Sir C.V. Raman on February 28, 1928, for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930. The aim of the day is to celebrate the importance of science and its contributions to society, as well as to promote scientific temper and encourage scientific exploration and discovery.
On this day, various events and activities are organized across the country to popularize science among students, researchers, and the general public. These events may include science exhibitions, seminars, lectures, science quiz competitions, and other science-related activities.
In our college, the departments of Physical Science and Natural Science jointly organized "AURORA 2k22" as part of the national science week celebrations. The celebrations included various programs and contests. There was a science documentary screening. Students and teachers from Manjappara HS were invited. The program began with a speech by Mrs. Deepa G. G, Assistant Professor of Physical Science, who explained about the importance of celebrating Science Day, about C.V. Raman and Raman effect briefly. Then Mrs. Preetha, HS Physics teacher, delivered a short speech about Science Day. Then the documentary was shown.

COMPETITIONS
The competitions organized included : Mega Science Quiz, Treasure Hunt, Picture Puzzle and Photography competitions. The quiz contained questions from basic and important science concepts. The Treasure Hunt was interesting with tricky and funny clues. We had the whole campus compound to search . The team members from Malayalam department got the prize for treasure hunt. The theme for the photography contest was "Science in Nature".The Picture Puzzle was conducted in such a way that we had to arrange the jumbled cut pieces from the photos of scientists. Students from English Dept. got the first prize in Picture Puzzle Competitions.
